Spring Lake, NJ is a resort beach town that was named after Spring Lake located in the town. The white sandy beaches have two miles of board walk with spectacular Atlantic Views. Many locals’ residents and tourists like comb the Spring Lake beaches in search of the beautiful seashells worthy of collecting. Other than the beaches Spring Lake receives many visitors who come to tour the town’s museum that was originally built as a school house in 1897. The Lake at Spring Lake offers many recreational opportunities as well.

This 8 foot deep spring fed lake is home to many wild life creatures like fish, birds and animals that live and thrive among the surrounding woods and lake.

The town was formed from the four shoes of developments that include Villa Park, Spring Lake Beach, Brighton-North Brighton, and Coma. This area was initially farm land until the full potential was discovered of the profit that could be made if it was converted into a resort town. Spring Lake’s population is around 3,000 people and among the local residents is Craig Biggo who plays for the Houston Astros as the second baseman.

Here they have daily cruises on Shark River where you will get to see the local animals in their natural habitat. This town has been widely known up and down the Jersey Shore for their laid back atmosphere and cozy life styles. Spring Lake has no traffic lights or parking meters and it is if time stands still when your there. This town is far removed from the larger cities like New York that is 65 miles to the north and Philadelphia that is 65 miles to the west, so one can’t help but fill relaxed.

Breakers on the Ocean is both a hotel and restaurant where they server breakfast, lunch, and dinner and also specializes in fine Italian cuisine and outstanding seafood dishes. The hotel portion of Breakers on the Ocean is the only oceanfront resort hotel in Spring Lake and offers many charming features. Their rooms are beautifully decorated and most of them have an ocean view. It’s easy access to the beach and they have a private pool, with golf, tennis and fishing nearby.

Another restaurant to choose from is The Black Trumpet. Here you can choose from homemade pasta dishes, Golden Brook Trout, Scallops, Tuna, Crab dishes and much more. If sea food is not something you enjoy they also have Cornish Game Hens or Filet Mignon that you may select instead.
