Sea Isle City, NJ is a midsize town with a population of over 2,800 full time residents. It is part of Cape May County and located on Ludlam Island. Sea Isle City is located only half an hour from Atlantic City and an hour and a half from Philadelphia. This makes it great for those who want to spend the night in a quieter town and visit the excitement of the bigger cities during the day.

If relaxation is all you’re seeking on your vacation then there is no need to leave Sea Isle City. They have beautiful white sandy beaches that go on for five miles. Here you can go swimming, surfing, sunbathing, snorkeling, sailing, fishing, charter boat for deep sea fishing and play volley ball on the beach. This beach is protected by lifeguards who watch over the beaches to protect and rescue anyone in need of their assistance. You can purchase your beach badge at the Community Center on J.F.K Blvd. Perhaps the biggest attraction in Sea Isle City is the Head to the Promenade; witch is a huge paved area for shops, restaurants, and arcades. It’s also a great place to ride your bike or roller blade on. Here you will find many of the local residents just hanging out or shopping. While you are here you should check out their historic Ludlam’s Beach Lighthouse that was built in 1885. Its existence is credited to the founder of Sea Isle City, Charles K. Landis, who requested it after several sea vessels wrecked off the island. It was once located at 31st street and Boardwalk until it was moved to 35th street and Landis Avenue in 1924. It is now privately owned and in bad shape, due to a fire in 1923, but the city counsel plans to restore and relocate it in the future. For those of you who love the sea, you might want to check out The Yacht Club of Sea Isle City. Here you will meet many local residents whose families have is members of this club for many generations. They advertise themselves to be fun and friendly with a beautiful view of the back bays. Another way to get the full experience of Sea Isle City is to go deep sea fishing. You can charter a boat at Captain Robbins Deep Sea Fishing, which has been in business since 1949.
