Ortley Beach
| Ortley Beach, NJ is also known to some as Dover Beaches South. This is a small beachfront community that is located along the New Jersey Shores. The town was named after Mitchell Ortley who was interested in this area to create an alternate route for larger vessels to Barnegat Inlet, but was unable to accomplish this task.
This family oriented town is great for a family with smaller children because of the Atlantic Ocean is calmer and shallower around their shore area. It’s also a good place for those who like to surf, because Ortley Beach is where the “Surf Club” originated at. |

Seaside Heights is a neighboring town that is less than a mile away. Here you will find such attractions as the Funtown Pier. This is an amusement park that has been in business for over 70 years and great fun for the entire family. They have rides that are suited for just adults, for just kids, or rides the entire family can enjoy together. Also located in Seaside Heights is a huge arcade that the whole family can have fun in. Coin Castle has been in operation for over 20 years and has a wide selection of coin operated arcade games and carnival type games that you can win prizes on. This place is open year around and provides hundreds of challenging games that even Mom and Dad will want to play. Here you can relax in their heated pool while listening to music that they are playing in the back round. All rooms have a/c and they have daily maid service. Directions: On NJ-37 East you will need to get off at exit 82 towards Seaside Heights/Island Beach State Park. Then you will need to merge onto NJ-35 North towards Seaside Heights/Point Pleasant. |
