| Lavallette is a beach town on the coast of the New Jersey shores. This town has a long history about its namesake Elie A. F. La Vallette, who was a French man in the United States Navy in the early 1800’s. In 1862 President Abraham Lincoln made him a Rear Admiral for his bravery and service in the Navy. Lavallette’s son is one of the co-founders of this town and named the town after his father. | |

It is located on a peninsula that separates it from the Atlantic Ocean. This town is picturesque due to the spectacular views and white sandy beaches. Many of the locals and tourists alike enjoy sunbathing on the beach or swimming in the warm Atlantic Ocean. The swimming areas are located at Bay Blvd & Brooklyn Ave and Bay Blvd & Reese Ave. Other local favorite activities include surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing, crabbing, and fishing. Lavallette is also well-known for its business district where you can find several shops, restaurants and hotels. You can stroll up and down the strip and see their wide variety of unique locally owned shops. They also have four playgrounds for the kids to enjoy as well. They are located on Brooklyn Ave & Bay Boulevard, Reese Ave & Bay Boulevard, White Ave & Bay Boulevard, and Dickman Drive West Point Pleasant Beach Island. You will go over the Mathis Bridge. Follow the signs to Route 35 North (also called Grand Central Avenue). This will lead you into Lavallette. |
