Bradley Beach


Bradley Beach, NJ was established in 1871 when a man named William B. Bradner seen that this land had potential to become a resort community. It was originally named Ocean Park, but the post office informed him that he would have to change the name because of the confusion it might cause with the NJ town named Ocean Port. Under the suggestion of another Bradner decided to name the town Bradley Beach.
The town of Bradley Beach really became popular in 1927 when the beach front became littered with dressing rooms, hot water baths, two large open-air swimming pools and many stores. 1950 marked in history when the Garden State Park was constructed and attracted the flood of urban residents that were seeking a year-round home with an ocean view. For many this was a paradise where they could live and escape the every day hustle and bustle of New York City where they worked.

The biggest attraction to Bradley Beach is its majestic white sandy beaches. Thousands of visitors from all over the world enjoy coming here to surf, swim, sunbathe, and fish in the Atlantic Ocean.

Other outdoor activities that are near by are bicycling, roller balding, golfing, and tennis. You can also charter a boat to do some deep sea fishing or rent a sail boat and just sail the day away on the deep blue sea.
